What is Spudded?

Spudded is our fun, friendly way to send someone a “hello” that’s more fun than a card, lighter on the planet, and full of heart. Instead of sending paper, you send a potato. Yes, a potato! But not just any potato — one that can brighten someone’s day and help charities we believe in.

Why a Spud?

Cheer-ups with purpose: Every spud you send helps support three amazing charities in farming and rural communities:
• The DPJ Foundation — supporting mental health in agriculture, offering local counselling, awareness, and grief support.
• RABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) — helping farmers with financial aid, emotional support, practical advice, and a 24/7 helpline.
• FCN (Farming Community Network) — offering confidential local and national support for farmers facing isolation, stress, or business/family struggles.

Eco-friendly & affordable: Spuds are natural, decompose, and don’t need fancy packaging or long transport.

What happens when your spud arrives

  • You send your friend or loved one a potato with a message. When they receive it, it’s a quirky surprise and a cheerful reminder you care.

  • Grow more spuds! Once the potato starts sprouting or goes soft, rather than letting it go to waste, you can plant it. With a bit of soil, water, and light, more potato plants can grow — new life from your original spud.

  • No more card clutter: One bonus — when the spud starts to go off, it’s a signal. Time to take down the old cards, tidy up the window-ledge, and maybe – plant the salty remains. It’s a gentle way of recycling sentiment.

The short of it

Spudded is about making people smile, supporting British farmers, and giving something a bit different — something that grows with meaning. Send a spud, brighten someone’s day, and help real people in agriculture who sometimes need us most.
